I have to ask you guys for your opinion on a few choices. SO i recently got a bit of money from Christmas and birthdays and stuff and i was wondering, Should I upgrade my current c (IE: New graphics card, processor and mouse pad ) Or should I buy a gaming laptop with a mouse and mouse pad. I only have around 800 dollars to spend. (Put suggestion for what I should do with my PC setup or suggestions for a laptop around 800 dollars)
Also put cool accessories for my PC set up Please

If you plan on gaming, don't get the laptop, you won't get the bang for your buck. What are the specs on your current PC?

As above, without knowing what you have currently it's difficult to tell you anything other than the laptop will be a lot more expensive for lesser performance.

I have a gtx 660, core I3 processor, I cannot recall anything else

btw i will also use the laptop for school work and light photo and video editing

Download a program called CPU-Z check how much RAM you have and get the motherboard model number, google it and find which MOBO you have. Also, you know what PSU you have?

Assuming your motherboard can handle it, I'd recommend a GTX 970, i5-4590, and 16 GBs of RAM. It would cost you roughly $700 USD

I'm not experienced enough in laptops or video editing to recommend you one. I think most of them are overpriced anyway. If I was you, I'd try to find a cheap &/or used laptop that you can use for school, and do your editing on your PC. If your schooling allows you to do that.

Edit: Also, if you can survive without the laptop, I'd also recommend an SSD with the extra $100 you have.

You buy more RAM if you want to have more RAM.

What model does it give you in CPU-Z? The easiest thing to do would be to buy another module of similar brand/speed/timings/voltage and install it.

The things I need to buy

Power supply

ASUS GeForce GTX 970 STRIX-GTX970-DC2OC-4GD5 4GB 256-Bit GDDR5 PCI Express 3.0 HDCP Ready SLI Support G-SYNC Support Video Card

Intel-i5-4590-BX80646I54590-Processor

16 GB of rams

For the Power Supply and Ram Sticks please recommend some that stay withing my budget
Which is around 800
Thanks For your Time (:

Ps if anyone knows similar products that have a good deal on them IE a new game or something please post them here please or just shoot me a link

I personally have the Rosewill ARC-M650, which is one of the cheapest 650 Modular PSU's you get can that will power your GPU. (I have the same GPU) http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16817182300&cm_re=650w-_-17-182-300-_-Product

I'm also personally about to buy this fast 16GBs of RAM http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16820231627&_ga=1.6231799.517819382.1449616581

If you really want to stay within your $800 budget, wait for most of these parts to go on sale.

I'm sure you know about STEAM. If not, it has over 10,000 games on sale right now until tomorrow (Jan 4 @ 10AM) Games such as the Witcher 3 for only $30.

Also, I just recently found this website called greenmangaming.com. Even though they already give you $20 off most new titles, there are also 20% off codes scattered over the internet. (here are a few N3RD20-N3RD20-N3RD20, NWYEAR-20PERC-WTHGMG) I was able to pre-purchase Fallout 4 for less than $50, when it was $80 on steam.

Don't get the Rosewill, get something from a proper PSU brand like Corsair. The CX600M or CX750M would be ideal for your rig. Semi modular, affordable and reliable.

Yeah, I've heard bad things about Rosewill PSU's, mine has been running fine for a year though with no DOAs from Newegg. Will probably upgrade around the 2 year mark and stick it into an older build. May as well spend the extra $30 and get a more reliable PSU as you stated.

Wouldn't recommend one for a new build. Even the CX500M is fine for a GTX 960 setup.
