So i tried to put together my own PC for the first. I got a new MB, video card, lotsa memory, big hard drive, etc. Well after everything is put together i power it on. "Fizzle sound"-burning smell. So i opened it up and found the problem. One of the memory card clips was broken and the card wasn't fully inserted.

well i take the card out and try to start it up again no power. So i take steps to figure out the issue. I Put in another PSU and I took out the Video card hoping that it wasnt touched( it's a nice one) and powered it up and it all starts up just no video. so i put the Video card back in power it up....nothing. no power. Pull the card out. starts right up and again no video. What now? I'm really hoping its a form of a safety with the motherboard. Do I just replace the MB and see what happens? And what about the Video Card?

go over to a friends house, take ur video card put it in there rigg, best way to figure out if the card works or not.

I put in the original -Antec True 430W- I have this no name 500w PSU which i tried as well. same results. I think its the MB. And unfortunately I just moved from NY - KY two weeks ago. So i don't really have a friend yet who is more then willing to let me take apart their PC.

So you had the no name brand in when it burnt up? I would say you most likely have a bad mobo now.
