I see no diffrence

VGA is analog video. The video is converted from digital to analog, goes via the cable and then converted back to digital. You are bound to get a loss in quality. Get out the TV manual or on-screen menus and look through the settings, especially video.

Edit: I dug out the manual for a Sony Bravia. That has 8 Scene settings on top of which you have about 16 specific video settings (including sharpness).

Mine doesnt I have tweaked the hd input on my tv to a ridiculous setting to ensure my ps3 looks as awesome as possible, i just had another go to be sure used everything from the tv menus to ati/amd hdtv options in ccc, and also used 1360*765, i have more colour depth at using the hd cable but the edges of windows for example are significantly lower quality than if i run 1360*765 using vga, i think its just how my tv is, ive noticed it before, i've had this tv for a while it deosnt even support 1080p, im gonna get a gaming monitor :)

Thats unusual that you cant see the diffrence,I have had my VGA monitor hooked up alongside my DVI monitor and theres much better quality in my DVI monitor so your HDMI should be better.

However you cant really tell the diffrence between DVI to HDMI...well i couldnt anyway.

Just out interest was it the same monitor? that had a vga port and hdmi? otherwise i'm not sure it would be a fair test if it was different screens.
