My Hard Drive is starting to sound a little different plus the program that I used to view the S.M.A.R.T data is giving me some weird readings. Anyway I would like a second option. I need another program to display the S.M.A.R.T data.

Is there a clicking noise coming from the harddrive? If so, this is called the "Click of Death" and quite often leads to the failure of your drive.

I'm not sure that it's the same one. I had a hard drive before do three loud clicks then went about its business. The ones is click vary fast like a hard drive normally dose but it dose seem like some are getting louder. I'm wounding if the S.M.A.R.T chip is still working.

The Click of Death repeats over and over...not just like three times and thats it...it sounds sort of like the drive spinnig up, but doesn't stop after a few seconds.

I'm guessing there's some other problem with your drive, though.

aww man!! just about 2 weeks ago my other computer was making that same click, it was doing it over an over an over again. it wouldent stop untill i turned i off. but when i left it running to see what it would do, the fan would shut off and it would freeze up,but you would still hear the clicking noise.
