i wanna do a small mod on my computer, while i'm fixing windows

just scratch off, and paint! thats how elmo does it!

That was... cute? NEXT PLEASE! :P (scratching into the metal portion? !)

The enamel on the case itself is thinner then a standard 11"x 8 1/2" piece of paper as a rule. Using a super fine sand paper to gently and evenly give the surface an abrasive feel while still being even across was the better idea that proceeded that.

The hardest part will be the actual spraying more then anything. You will have to go evenly back and forth with a continuous spray. You don't want end up with ripples in the finish from uneven saturation.

yea of course. i think i will do this in a few days, and i'll resurrect this thread and post some pics so y'all can see my handywork

Just use a degree of caution when going about this so you see good results. On that make and model case I'm not sure at this point if the enamel was simply sprayed on like in a spray booth or if both inner and outer surfaces are grey that suggest dipped in a vat and possibly anodized. That's where a certain level of electrical current almost magnetizes the enamel for a better bond to the metal itself. That stuff does scratch and chip away easy however.
