i wanna start overclocking,

but i dunno how to what to set the slider at etc,

can somebody tell me the maximum clock speed for my nice and crappy Geforce 4

also how would my sempron do at 20%

No-one can tell you the maximum clock speed, you have to try it out. Go up slowly. If there are no errors and no overheating then bump up the clock speeds a bit, and test for a bit. If no errors then put them up again etc.

Wait a minute...

Wow, did that and i got my processor up to 20% but i put two cpu cooling fans on, just incase

In what way did you put two fans on a heatsink? Over on top of each other?

Because if you put two fans on top of each other, that would be a bad ideal, because instead of making the air move faster, it creates more turbalance, so the fans are very much less effective:eek: !

yea, its a good trick the second is being held on by zip ties, and theres a 5cm spacer between them, having said that i might remove it as the noise is dreadfull.

im a bit intrigued as to exactly whats going on around that cpu of yours, any chance of picures being put up

THIS IS THE WHOLE PC WITHOUT THE TUNNEL, I TRY AND KEEP IT TIDY.

THIS PICTURE BELOW IS OF THE TUNNEL THINGY, THE FAN ON THE LEFT IS THE ONE IM ON ABOUT I CALL IT "THE JET ENGINE" HENCE THE NAME, ITS SITS 5CM AWAY FROM CPU FAN AND TAKE THE HOT AIR FROM CPU, OUT INTO THE ATMOSPHERE. THE RIGHT IS TO TAKE HOT AIR FROM THE GPU AN TAKE IT OUT

THIS IS THE THING I WANNA OVERCLOCK, THE FAN IS FROM A GFX5500 PCI GFX CARD, I PAYED 30 QUID FOR THE CARD AND THIS WAS THE ONLY THING GOOD ON IT, WASTE OF MONEY IN MY OPINION, BUT A GOOD ACSESSORY, DUNNO WHY BUT THE GPU DONT GET HOT EVEN WHEN PLAYING GAMES, BUT THE SOUND CARD DOES AND IT COOLS BOTH DOWN, AND IS QUIET

THIS IS AN IMAGE FROM 45 DEGREES FROM THE TUNNEL BAY THING, IT GETS IN THE WAY, BUT A GOOD PART OF THE CASE

yep yep, pic 4 isnt very clear heres another one

-0MEGA-

------------= +-----
------------= +-----
------------= +-----
------------= +-----

= equals the fan on the end of the tunnel
+ equals the cpu fan

the tunnel is part of the side pannel this also gives it the 5cm spacer

what do you think of my system overall

i'd say thats a good idea. actually, two fans would create more turbulence... and wouldn't be as effective as two fans added together... but it is more effective, i've stacked fans before. i guess its because more electricity goes into powering the air.
anyways, i have two fans on my heatsink :) of course, its a different type of stack, one on each side of the heatsink :)
heres my heatsink:

its a nice heatsink, its not the best... but it's cool how i can put two fans on it.
basically, it wasnt as good as i thought it would be, and i had to use twist ties and its kind of makeshift, but thats how custom cooled comps are a lot of the time :)

ha yea, i made my first computer case out of cardboard and pva glue

it worked until i had a fan that broke out of its chasis and ripped it appart

When I had a GeForce 4 MX440 I got the clocks to (core/memory) 340/415, the stocks on my card back than were 250/400. But I had a 120mm fan blow air on the card with a "wind tunnel" cause the card only had a heatsink on it.
