I want a monster computer (Fast as possibal)

Whats Up People!!

I use my PC for music production so i need it to be as efficient as possibal when im working.

Ive got
- Intel Pentium 4, 3.40GHz
- 2GB of Memory RAM
- 450GB of hardisk, which is partitioned in 2.

People tell me this is a good set-up but when i load applications or transfer files etc. i get a 2 or 3 sec freeze.

Can the Memory and CPU be upgraded any further? are those the problems? or do i need somthing else?

You can't do much upgrading, at least not any that will make much difference.

What is your budget? You could be spending upwards of $10K for a monster computer
 
well, not 10Gz, but theres a bit of scratch left asside for this cause.
What will it take for my computer to function more smoothly/faster?
