AC5, no other option really. It's so cheap even if it only makes a little bit of a difference then your not exactly going to be out of pocket.

It took my temps down from around 53C load to around 46C and for little over a tenner, i'd say thats a bargain.:P

Yeah, I'd look at gettin ga new HSF and giving it a good clean and using some AS5 on there too! ;)

A fan on the side would help to bring in the cool air too, rekon you could mod it? :P

I added a 120mm fan for a blow hole to the top of my case . Since hot air rises it helped alot, but I also use a Zalman 9700 cpu cooler.

Yeah it's an exhuast . I have the top 120mm and the back as exhuast . Then I have 2 120mm and one the front as intakes. At idle my temps are 25C and loaded 42C .

I would suggest that you do some cable management. That will drop your Temps a little bit and it's free.

its not easy though doing any more cable managment because i have that big chunky ide cable...then all those wires that are tangled:D

should i get a round ide cable?

Between rounded IDE cables, a side-mount 120mm fan, and a new CPU HSF, I think you'd be set.

Do you use your floppy drive very often? If not, get a replacement blank panel, yank that little sucker out and toss it in your desk drawer. That'll be one less ribbon cable and one less heat-producing component.

I wouldn't buy one, if you have a knife and some cable ties you're good to go! I made the one in my sig pictures, I found the round one I had too big still and took it out... :P

hey all,

i dont use my floppy drive ever :D....so can i just unplug it and remove the damn thing without complications?

Unless you need the floppy handy to install RAID drivers or BIOS reflashes, then there are absolutely no problems with removing the drive.

lol kornowski. What ever convinced them to make IDE cables wide and flat like that anyway? Sadistic tendencies?

By the way--and sorry to get off topic--but nice case ya got there. I especially like the staggered pair of lights at the front-bottom, with the grill touch. Going for the Mercedes look?
