I would like to start a youtube gaming channel. I have a GTX 1080 and I am wondering how to record gameplay with shadowplay with the best possible settings. I don't want to stream to twitch because I don't want to get swatted. That really scares me.

Anyways, just wondering if anybody can tell me how to record using my GPU at the highest possible settings and what I need to get started.

I have about 600GB free on my HDD and I'm hoping that is enough space to record fairly long gaming sessions maybe 30 minutes at a time?

I used to have a channel where I posted Flight Simulator X videos but I have lost my skills so I am thinking of doing videos for other games now, just random games.

Also I am wondering how to record voiceovers and have my voice not too loud. I would prefer to record the voiceover seperately from the gameplay and have both the gameplay and my voice in the video.

I suppose I will need some fairly robust video editing software. Can anybody recomend editing software which is free robust and easy to use?

    Thanks so much

Just record with the nVidia Experience. The quality is very good.

You can also stream directly to YouTube with the nVidia Experience.

I don't think you can find a professional level editing software for free but like @voyagerfan99 said WMM. It will be an ok starting software that's easy to use but don't expect professional-like results.
