It's $200 difference between the two.

I WILL be playing SOME video games on the laptop (HD 5650, not special but better than integrated) but I have the PC for games primarily. Laptop is mostly for school. Internet, Office Applications, media, etc... no editing or anything nuts like that.

Is the i5 worth it?
 
theres no app that will take that cpu to 3.33, except what you mention that you werent going to do as in video editing, heavy gaming. for normal use the i3 would be plenty.the i5 is faster but not $200 dollars faster.
 
Do you know anything about HP Laptops? What's are the differences between the HP Pavillions and the HP Envys? The hardware being used is the same. I imagine is the cosmetic end of it but it doesn't say what in particular.
