i5 750 did perform better than 965 BE in most cases, and it is cheaper

In gaming it even outperformed i7 920 in some cases. Thats probably due to the superior Turbo Mode that Lynnfield has (check page 5 in the anandtech review)

Cool. If only i had a few thousand dollars to throw around i'd do a nice, proper, gaming computer.
 
The Core i5 750 Lynnfield processor looks like it has impressive specifications and a decent price tag as well. I see the Intel Core 2 Duo E8400 Wolfdale is still selling for around $168. :)
 
Just got a e-mail from eBuyer here in the uk offering me the i5 for £149.99 but you cant wait around otherwise I would have deffo brought this processor instead of my 750BE its annoying how deals and tech moves on so quickly!
