i5 how much ram?

it seems that the standard setup on a P55 i5 is to use 2x2gb ram for a total of 4gb.

i plan to build a windows 7 64 bit system. can i use 4x2gb to get a total of 8gb?

does this make sense? will i see the performance difference?

as to timings I noticed that (on g. skill anyway) that can get pc3 16000 that runs at 9-9-9-27 or pc3 12800 that runs at 7-7-7-24 for almost the same price - which is the better way to go?

I would stay with pc3 16000 (which is what is likely presently installed)
Also from 4Gig to 8Gig you won't notice much difference unless you are a Video editor or something, but then again the more Ram the better anyway

2GR is enough but 4GB is reasonable

I say go with 4 gigabytes of G.Skill PC3 16000 RAM. Most software presently just won't utilize more than 4 gigabytes.
