hello

as the title says i got a 2.66Ghz i7 920

my system is following

6Gb Dominator ram 2000Mhz
ASUS Rampage II Extreme Republic of Gamers
PSU Corsair 850Watt
ATI 5970 Black edition (2Gb)
2,66Ghz i7 920.

my question for you guys .. Im new to overclocking done alittle not much but.. how much can i tweak my processer and still be in the safe zone? :) thanks!

Well then you should be able to get a bit more out of your i7 then. If you want to stay in the safe range for your processor look into the max temps and voltages for the i7. Looks to be 1.375V and 100c. I would not feel comfortable at all running the temps anywhere close to 100c. I would stay below 80 and you should be fine.

when im under load the temperatures are (Using CPUID HWMoniter)

CPUTIN (general cpu) hits max at 40-41 C 105 F

the diffrend cores are between 48 and 64. 64 is only under heavy load other wise its between 48- 55 or 56

Please tell me if thats ok :)

Just keep it under 80 at max load and you will be in great shape.

You can easily push the i7's to 1.4 V and still maintain a decent temperature under 100% load.

Okay.. thanks:) im new to clocking so ill stay at 3.21ghz just for alittle while .. Im not sure to go around Rampage ll auto clocking freq that has 3.21ghz as max settings.
