i7 950

Higher bin = lower temps and more stable voltage changes, but like BBSK has explained to me, sometimes that can be a curse. The 950 drop has been planned for a while since it's common to either go 920/930 or 975/980X and nothing in between.

+1.

I'm building a gaming pc this week what CPU would you guys recommend? I was thinking the i7 930 but for the same price I can get the 950. What would you say?

950 if same price as 930. 950 has a few more multipliers so you can top out without having to push the QPI bus as hard.

I was in this same position when i purchased my machine i was going to get a 920 @2.66 ghz stock but at the same time i was purchasing my parts the 930 @2.8ghz stock came out at the same price and at 22x multiplier therefore i got the 930. So looking at this the 930 @2.8ghz stock vs a 950 @3.2 ghz stock with more multipliers not sure on the number i would definantly go the 950.
