i7 Computer freezes after SLI

Hello computerforum,
I recently bought some new hardware, which would be:
-DFI X58 T3EH8
-Corsair Dominator PC3-12800
-i7 920
-8800GTS 512MB
-Thermaltake Toughpower QFan 500W

I installed mainboard, CPU, RAM and my old 8800GTS, but the comp didn't boot up.
The mainboard reported a "CF" error which led me to use another RAM-slot.
That worked and I could use my system for 3days without any problems.

Then my new 8800GTS arrived, which I put into the PCIE4 slot.
Connected both cards and booted.
In Vista I activated the "SLI (recommended)" option in the NV software and I could use SLI.
After about 3hours my comp then froze.
I removed the second card but now my computer often refuses to boot, with a black screen and the debug-LED displays "CF" error.
Sometimes its some nonsense error code.

If the computer boots successful I get some graphic-glitches and after some minutes the cursor stops moving for some seconds until the comp freezes.
The CPU/mobo temperatures are okay.

I tried using 3 different RAM modules and switching between both graphic cards.
What could have caused my problem, and what is it?

What Power Supply are you using? Though CF meant you had the jumper on the clear pins, with the bios reset. Either take the jumper off or move it over depending if you have 3 pins or 2.

I'm using a Thermaltake Thoughpower 500.
The jumper is on default, I just moved it to clear when I got the CF error, but it didn't help.

Dont know how many amps total on the 12V rail that one has, coud not find a Toughpower under 600W. But if its a 500W model, you running right at the minimum for wattage for 8800GTS in SLI. 500W with 30 amps total

Yupp, thats it (bomberboysk).
So the psu shouldn't be the problem?
Atm I'm not running SLI any more since I want to get a stable system.
I'm wondering what has gone wrong, I'll memtest tonight.

If I turn the power on shouldn't the debug-LED post anything at all?
I couldn't run memtest tonight because the computer didn't even show the bios screen, the debug-LED did not show anything (was off).
