I7 or phenom II X6

so which one i7 950 bloomfield or Phenom II X6 1090T Black Edition.....

i do alot of video encoding and a fair share of gaming but im not sure what to get suggestions

Either would do Video encoding and gaming effortless though.

In applications that utilize 6 cores they will be about even. But otherwise in other aspects the Intel i7 is better since it has better CPU architecture, you get more bang for your buck

I would go with i7 as well. I also do editing and my i7 is perfect for the job.

I think that It would be best to compare the 1055T with the i5-7xx

I would take the 950, for the extra price you are paying, for your uses, you would see a rather large boost in performance, especially with your videos.

Yes, the only thing the X6 can compare to it in is multi-threaded grunt, and even then the i7s HT helps alot

I think that it's partially personal opinion in this case (eg. what kind of motherboard you want), but I would probably get the i7, since IMO it would beat the Phenom in pretty much any scenario. Even in programs that utilize more than 4 cores, the i7's hyperthreading (4 cores 8 threads) would put it a bit faster than the Phenom's 6 full cores. The main thing the Phenom has on its side is a slightly lower price (of course that's pretty much always how AMDs are).
