i7 single cpu at 100%

OH NO!! Its just happened again, upon start up the same core was maxed out and my system was basically frozen. I didnt do anything, i launched no software nothing! all i could do was hold down reset and reboot then it was fine.

What the hell is this problem, this is a new system that has enough umph to handle most things you could throw at it so what is this processor problem?

Anyhelp please.

I managed to open SIW before it became unresponsive. The temps were all40c so no overheating from what i could understand.

please find attached the process list as mentioned.
I dont know if its important but i noticed a few things like skype name appeared then went red and dissapeared again. This was obviously taken while my sytem wasnt having any issues so this report may well be different to when it freaks out. When it does that again i will take anotherreading if it doesnt totally freeze.

At the moment, you ran PE, CPU usage looks just perfect.
System Idle Process (CPU not used) is listed at 96.55%.

I'm beginning to think, we may have some hardware issue here.

Your computer seems to have rather high end specs, so it should be able to run anything.
 
do you think it could be a faulty processor? I hear those are kind of rare. Its under warranty for a year so i could send it to be fixed but that would be a pain in the arse.
 
The problem is, there is no way to say anything for sure without testing it with proper tools at some computer shop.
