IBM no-1802 error keeps coming back

I have this IBM T42 which a non ibm wireless card in, have done the no-1802 fix on it several times yet it keeps coming back after windows updates. Is there anyway of stopping this except for not updating windows?

it is now coming up with the error:
"expansion ROM not initialized - PCI on motherboard
Bus:00, Device:00, Function:00"

All i can do is press F1 to go into bios, it won't load into windows. Have taken wireless card out and still the same.

Any ideas?
