I have a IBM server Xseries 220 (type 8645). My computer has two Pentium III Processors (1 GHz Each). But when I start my computer the screen says that the computer is running at 1 GHz. My question is that since I have two processors in my computer shouldn't it run at 2 GHz? ? Please give some input if there is something wrong or why my computer has two processors. I'm kinda a n00b at this so i'm going to apologize in advance. Thanks Guys!

Your prob may be in your BIOS setup..

If I am not mistaken you have to actually go in and set it up to run
both processors..

No. It's running 1Ghz.

1. Nothing is wrong
2. Your computer has two processors because most decent servers do

Huh? Set what up?

it uses both processors when multitasking or running programs that have more than 1 execution thread. The computer has the ability to run 2 threads simultainiously at 1GHz.

So whats the point of having two processors if my computer only uses one of them?
The point of having two processors is to run stuff that uses two processors or has extensive multithreaded calls
