i dont no hao to burn a video onto a disc, wat disc do i need, is there a certain software i need to buy? please help i havent a clue!!

Ive got a thinkpad R40 aswell. Do you mean burn video to disk so you can watch it on a dvd player? if so, you cant because R40s dont have DVD burners. If you just want to burn a vid to a cd for the purpose of file transfer its just the same as burning any other type of file. Just drag it into the D: drive while a blank disc is in the drive and click Write these files to CD.

you can either create a data disc so it can be read on other computers or a video CD this will work on most dvd players, most software will accept mpegs, mpgs avi files so dont worry. obviously it isnt going to be DVD quality but it is better than nothing. i know all nero burning software is capable of this function.
