Ibook or Dell?

I am saving up for a refurbished or new laptop. I was looking at www.geeks.com and found a nice dell for $320. 30 GB HD,512 RAM,1.8 GHZ,DVD-ROM Drive. Or, I was looking a ebay and found a ibook g3 for about $250 without airport card. What should I do?

personally i would go with the ibook....

but i need to know more about it.... specs?

If I did go with the ibook g3 I would probably order it through powerbook guy. But, It would have about 576 MB,20 GB HD,600 MHZ.

People are talking me into the mac. I think I may go with it. Does anybody own a Dell D600? Do you like it?

i normally hate dell, but its better than mac, imo

check out the refurbished on the Dell site. You might find one in your price range and get a guarantee to boot.

yeah but its a PPC RISC based CPU, so its not like you can compare it to an 800 MHZ x86 CPU, because they are two different species.

You have a point. I figured it will cost about $350 to upgrade it and to max out the RAM.

Get the mac dell pcs have lots of cooling situations and some say their batterys blows up

You're talking about upgrading, so that doesn't really show much about a budget, so have you looked at any refurbished dells?

The inspiron 1420 is a solid notebook, and then you could always look at the normal vostros, they're pretty cheap.

I have been using PC's for 2 years now and I want to switch back from mac. The problem is it comes with 10.4 and it is running with 256 MB which is the absolute minimum. I will probably downgrade it to 10.3 when I get it so it will run more stable. I read reviews on the dell laptop I wanted and all of them complained about the unit overheating.
