Icon Troubles

I'm having troubles with my windows xp icons...
When i click on the start menu the icons for my document, my computer etc. don't show up. its just a blank space. also the bar to the left of folders has disappeared.

Its incredibly annoying as i have a slight case of OCD.
Any help would be appreciated thankyou!

have you run a spyware/adware/virus removal program?

I just installed Motherboard Monitor and serious samurize
Could that have changed anything?

ps. i have run virus scanners etc.

what is Samurize? I'm too lazy to google it...

samurize is a program that shows things about your computer on your desktop... like HDD space, Media, etc. random stuff like that.

that might have done it. try disabling it in Msconfig and rebooting, see if that does anything for you

its working now, thankyou i dont think it was samurize that did it, i just think my computer needed to be restarted. damn windows...

IMO 80% of PC problems are cured with a restart

You could check the registry values but no way am i going to try to explain all that.
