IDE Extension Cable

Is there any good IDE Extension Cables on the market?
My folks have a IDE HD and IDE disk drive and both work fine but with newer tech they only have 1 IDE slot instead of 2 and one is not long enough on its own.

Would something like this work without hurting the response times on the HD etc?

The case is a mid-size tower the only way I could do it is if I could get 3-4 more inches on the HD.

Sadly I am on a budget build or else id buy them some cheap 100gb+ SATA HDs.

Extension cable... i would jsut replace the entire cable with a long ide, such as:

hmmm those would work perfectly though I wish it told me how long each connector was length wise would help me choose the right one.
