Ideas for a reasonable priced desktop

I do not know how to build computers and my husband and I are looking to purchase a new desktop near the end of the month for him for college and home use. I want something that will be decent with music, can handle a lot without crashing, has a good graphics card that can handle most games and things like photoshop. We also have to get a new monitor. I would like to spend the least amount possible totalling around 1000 bucks. If you have any recommendations, I would greatly appreciate it.

are you open to building a computer? because you'll get a lot more for your money, and better quality components.

My husband might be willing to get one built but would not want to build it himself and I am not taking the chance of trying to build one. I am not mechanically inclined. I am not sure who builds decent computers by us at all or where we would be able to go to get one built.

I would recommend getting an experienced builder on the forums here. They would do a great job for you and it would likely cost under $750. I can recommend a few people here who I know would do a great job if you are interested.

Pre-built computers are generally quite cheap in quality. They use cheap power supplies, hard drives and motherboards. If you let someone who knows what they are doing build something for you it would be worth it.

The company I work for would build one for you. I have the contact information if you are interested. We are based in Franklin, TN, but could always ship to your location. We have been there for going on 13 years now.
