IE History Clearing Question

I was wondering if there is a setting that would get rid of my typing in an address in the IE Search the Web box and then not show all of the prior sites addresses that I had visited; which appear beneath the search box?

I did go to Tools, Internet Options, Content TAB, and then Clear Forms and that did not get rid of the prior sites addresses that I had been to appearing when I typed an address in the Search the Web box.

Any input/s would be appreciated.

Thanks for your input geoff5093.

I did install the Windows Washer, it's a 30 day trial period.

I set it up and have used it many times.

I still have the same issue with IE and it's retention of visited sites showing as I type in a new, or same internet address.

Maybe there is not a real answer for this?

Control panel- internet options- advance- uncheck, inline auto complete

Thanks StrangleHold.

I checked the Advanced settings and that box is unchecked.

Still getting drop down box.

This is not a real big issue, but was trying to see if there was an option within IE to get rid of the drop down box showing the history of visited sites.

Hence, will close this subject out at this point.

Are you talking about when you are at a search engine site and start typing in something to search, it displays a drop down box with a list of previous searches? ..Or, are you talking about the standard Address Bar?

You can put your mouse over the search engine drop down box and press the delete button to get rid of those... and you can go to Tools > Internet Options > General Tab, Clear History to get rid of the Address bar history.
