IE8 window size

Since I installed IE8 over IE7, which I wasn't having any problems with, using vista home premium I've been having a couple of problems.

One annoying thing I can't figure out is when I open a new window I need to resize the window to fit the screen everytime and I can't find where I can change this.

It has also been acting slow and will not open some pages at all.

Are there any fixes or should I just try to re-install it?
 
A re-install may work, but i can't see that changing a whole lot. My recommendation is Opera/FireFox/Chrome. I'm not what you'd call a fan of IE, although I have heard good(well, better) things about IE8

Are you saying that the maximize button doesn't work? Like the user above said, if you like IE check out Firefox/Opera/Safari.

Google Chrome is a piece of dog turd. The features are lackluster and with no add-on support makes it obsolete.
