is it possible to get rid of this process completely, it pops up under processes as fast as i can end it, and its using alot of memory, i want this to stop, how do i do it?

ps.. sorry for the typo in title

If iexplore.exe is popping up continuously in your processes even after you close it, you probably are infected with a virus or malware. I would suggest you disconnect your internet connection until someone else comes along to help you, so at least it cannot get out.

i figured it was spyware but just wanted to see.
i only use fire fox but when i do get a pop up it pops up in a ie window, would removing Ie from my computer help with the pop ups?

i suggest that you scan your computer for viruses and spyware. it doesn't matter if u get rid of IE the fact is that the spyware/virus will still remain.

Free Antiviruses:
http://www.free-av.com
http://free.grisoft.com/

i have both of those on my system.

Free Spyware Removers:
http://pack.google.com/intl/en/pack_installer.html?hl=en&gl=us
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=435bfce7-da2b-4a6a-afa4-f7f14e605a0d

i use AVG Anti-Spyware (which is good but its not a real time..its on demand after 30 days).

In the future..to prevent such things use a browser protection tools:
http://www.sandboxie.com

and a firewall

Hi, I'm not going to solve your issue, but I'm helping out the security experts here.

http://www.trendsecure.com/portal/en-US/_download/HiJackThis.exe to a permanent folder such as My Documents.

After the download is complete, navigate to the folder where you have saved HijackThis.exe .

1) Double click on HijackThis to open the tool.
2) Close all other open windows and click on "Do a system scan and save a logfile".
3) After the scan is complete, please copy and paste your log here.

Thank you :)

Wouldn't be a bad idea to install some anti virus program on your computer, anti spyware alone is not enough

You are indeed infected.

I notice that you do not seem to be running antivirus software. This is somewhat suicidal in today's digital world. AVG makes an excellent free antivirus client, as do AntiVir or avast!. Please download and install one of these programs and allow it to do a full scan.

Please download NoLop to your desktop.

  • First close any other programs you have running as this will require a reboot.
  • Double click NoLop.exe to run it.
  • Now click the button labelled Search and Destroy.
<<your computer will now be scanned for infected files>>
  • When scanning is finished you will be prompted to reboot only if infected, Click OK.
  • Now click the REBOOT Button.
  • A Message should popup from NoLop. If not, double click the program again and it will finish.
--If you receive an error, mscomctl.ocx or one of its dependencies are not correctly registered, please download mscomctl.ocx to your system32 folder then rerun the program.--

Please post the contents of C:\NoLop.log along with a fresh log from HijackThis. Please let me know if you had any problems during the fix.
