If a 400W is a Minimum System Requirement for a Video Card... and I have 300W in my CPU

should I try it and see if it still works (I don't have money, but I do have a warranty which allows me to upgrade through the store).

CompUSA told me, "Why would you need a new Power Supply? I'm sure this baby will do just fine with that card."

We purchased a 2-year warranty to cover the possibility that the CPU will blow up.

The story:

We bought an HP Pavilion a1250n , and a BFG GeForce 7800 GT OC Video Card (needs 400W).

Is there a chance that the 300W will support the card?

Not that 300W PSU. A good 300W possibly although id start at 350W but not a POS 300W PSU

I wouldnt try it, you take a risk of damaging the card. but if you do want to try it, disconect everything inside that you dont need, like extra hard drives, PCI cards, extra cd drives, ect.

More likely the card will just not power up (or even more likely, it will powerup and do lots of beeping) :)

I really have already passed it already. . . lol

I was only supposed to spend $1400, I've spent $1500

I might have to wait one or two weeks before ordering it from newegg. It should be around $50 to $60 maximum.

whoops I used two already's in the same sentence. delete that last one in your minds

I got the same computer (well the a1230n) and same power supply, it is fine for running the computer but I plan on getting a 6800GS and need a new one as well. I am still looking but I'll tell you if I find a good one. That Aspire looks pretty good for the price.
