If I buy an 8800 GT will it work on my current PC Specs

My input - Please dont get an 8600 GT its an awful card compared to what you can get these days
That is true - the only good reason for getting this card would be not being able to upgrade your PSU, it's one of the best cards you can run on a stock PSU. As said, if you want to play Crysis, 8800GT/9600GT would the minimum you should look at, and there's really not much point at getting anything better as your CPU would be a bottleneck. Chances are you would have to upgrade your PSU, especially if your computer is prebuilt, though.

Hey, I just looked up you MoBo specs - apparently it takes Core2 CPUs. I would recommend getting a new CPU as well - I don't know your budget but I would look into the E7xxx and E8xxx series - those will give you some serious gaming oomph over your current P4, and you may even consider getting a better graphics card like 9800GTX+/9800GX2 (those cards do exist, right?), if you can get them cheap enough, they can pretty much max out Crysis, and if you're willing to go ATI the Radeon 4850/4870 would be great choices as well.

If you're on tight budget, something like Intel E7200 and 8800/9600 cards with a new PSU would be something you could consider.

no that mobo probably takes pentium Ds not Core2s, thats what all my pentium 4 boxes that say "dual core compatible" can

If your looking for a cheap, but good quality PSU btw, take a look at Hiper group. Not sure if they are cheap over there, but they are fairly cheap, well made PSUs with all the cables you'll need and more and are nice and quiet.

It definately does, im running a 3.0GHz one on that board as i type. Check my sig.

But back on the topic, we still don't know exactly what we are dealing with here in terms of the PSU.

Oh well that sums up all the things you need to know *sarcasm*, its cheap, and its quiet. Don't listen to this guy....

PLEASE TELL US WHAT PSU YOU HAVE< AND THEN WE CAN DETERMINE IF IT CAN DO THE JOB, ELSE, AN ALTERNATIVE

Only because i challenge the group think that has taken over some segments of this forum, but I am happy with that.

I was simply warning the OP to be careful taking advice from a person that rates key criteria for choosing a PSU as "cheap and quiet". Nothing wrong with that.

Well I think my PSU doesnt realy have a name it just says Power Supply P4-400W 20+4Pin.

Thats it.

Well now Im thinking of buying one later and Ill check there prices.

But If I cant really afford it maybe I should go 8600GT.

With 8600GT and my current components I can max out Doom 3, CoD 4 right and specially WOW cause it doesnt take that much.
But how about DMC 4? can I max it or maybe I can only take it in med?.

is 540 Mhz (GDDr2) going to max out this games?. since 8600 still popular this days.

Well I really wanted a GDDR3 with 500+ Mhz so for sure I can max and play happily with the game I want.

But anyways I'll go to the Computer Shop later and tell u what I'll see and what will u prefer.

But is it bad for my computer to have a High End Card like 9600? because I have only 1gb and P4 3.00 Ghz. If its bad for my PC then maybe I'll go 8600GT. But if its only bad cause it doesnt look balanced, it doesnt fit but it wont affect my PC then I'll still go for 9600GT.

Well anyways guys thx for the Help again ^^.

Dont stop here though ;P

Also consider the HD4670 which is cheaper than the 9600 and is pretty efficient due to its 55nm technology.

Ok im gonna right that down I only have little knowledge on ATI. I'll still go in the computer shop later after 3 hours so I'll look up ATI too then tell u guys what I saw and u choose what I should buy.

Ok guys I think Im not gonna be able to buy a 550W PSU so maybe I should stick with a card that doesnt eat that much power...

Ok here's what I've found ( 1 Dollars = 3.75 Saudi Riyals )

BioStar 8600 Series = 355 sr
* Is this a good Card for gaming? As long as I remember its 512mb
It doesnt show its GPU Clock so Idk and its GDDR2
Nvidia GeForce 8600GT = 395 sr
* This one looks cool cause It's the new 8600GT it has 1024mb, DDR2
and the Ramdac is 400Mhz and I dont know its GPU Clock it doesnt
show in the box. To be specific the Box style is all white and
has Light Green lines. I think its a new release of 8600GT cause
every shop has it.
Sapphire Radeon HD 3650 = 395 sr
* This one has the same price as the Nvidia 8600GT that I saw. It
has a 512mb VGA ram and I dont know the other thats what is
shows in the box.

So what or whats the best to choose on these 3 cards?.
Can u tell me whats the best and whats best for Gaming and can u tell me what game can I max out with the card u choose and tell me pls what Settings I can play CoD 4 well with no video lag at all.

The second question is this 3 cards are okay with 400W right?
If so I'll really kill my self xD.

I saw a 550W Thermal Take and It cost 550 sr I mean WTF 1 sr per wats >.<.

Well anyway you choose what u prefer since u guys are expert and Im only an begginer.

And BTW whats the GPU clock of Sapphire HD 3650? and also the Nvidia 8600GT i gave ( its really easier to look for an ATI card >.< )
