If you have 2 computers using the same Modem Router for DSL Will it Slow Down Internet Speed

If you have 2 computers at Home using the same Combo Modem Router Device for DSL Internet Service Will it Slow Down Internet Speed if (a) One of the computers is connected by Ethernet cable and the other is connected wirelessly through the same Modem Router Combo Device? Assume they are both the same computers with the same memory, ram, OS etc. (2) Same question but 2 computers are connected by ethernet cable through the same modem via 2 of the modems outputs.

Thanks for your input

The internet speed won't slow down but the 2 (or however many computers you have) share the bandwidth. In this case, each will see approximately 1/2 the overall download speed. In actual use it wouldn't be a perfect 50/50 split but the point is that the 2 computers have to share a finite amount of bandwidth.

Good point. For the purpose of this thread let's assume they're both transferring data at the same time

Then clearly, yes. If you have for example a 20 mbit connection, that's the amount of external bandwidth available for your entire LAN. For an overly simplistic discussion, if one PC is using 15 mbit of that, clearly there's just a capacity for 5 mbit that isn't being utilized or would be available for other systems.

it all depends on what you are doing in the web,if you are streaming video in HD it all depends on how much bandwidth you have,if you just browsing that should not be any issue, all boils down to how many Mbts you have,
