If you're buying a new PSU, take my advice on this.

If you want to keep your case clean or have any cable management at all, do yourself a favor and get a power supply that allows you to remove the cables that you don't need to hook up in your system. The power supply I have doesn't allow me to do this, and as a result, my case is a mess. Could I make it neater? Probably, but it sure would be a LOT easier if I had the option to remove the wires I didn't need.

I have an Antec SmartPower 2.0 350W crammed into my eMachines microtower. It's a PITA having so many unused cables. I had to bundle them up and try to hang them where they won't get in the way of airflow, and that was NOT easy in such cramped quarters! If I got the 500W unit, THEN I'd have removeable cables!

I have a older pc i just started upgrading, and the psu on the new case I bought for it doesnt have the option to remove the cables you dont need, and what I had to do was bundle them all up and shove them in one of my bays, my case has a side window, and the reason i got the case was for the side window to always be showing to people that are near the computer, so before they all got shoved into the bay (with some ducktape) it looked like crap, so the next psu I get will DEFINATELY have that option.
