I'll bring my tablet to repair. How to avoid them to pry my files?

Hi
If I send my tablet to the repair man, how to avoid them to pry my files and personal e-books?

I find no function to place an access password to my files, even if there is, it would be very uncomfortable to enter a password before accessing each file, because I have aprox. 300 files (including e-books and Word documents) and the third part, at least, I consider very personal in nature.

Not want them to be read even by my mother

I'm sorry but removing them from your tablet is probably the easiest and safest way to do if you're worried the people who are repairing your tablet may look at your files.

If you're sending it back to the company then there is a good chance that they will do a factory restore on it, or maybe even send you back a different device. So you really need to have your files backed up before hand. Have you thought about using something like dropbox or skydrive to backup the files? Though if you must just hide/protect the files I would imagine(assuming this is an android device) that you could find an app in the app store to hide/protect your files for you. I know I have one on my phone to protect my photos so I would think they would have the same thing for just files in general.

Simple answer is you cant. You have to trust people. If your stuff is dodgy or illegal, well thats the price you pay.

Does the constant removal and re-recording of files on my tablet couldn't damage it in the long term?
