I'm building my first comp. How do i OC xp 2500+

I have a EXTREME Volcano 12 fan for my AMD XP 2500+. Will i have to do something to the processor before I glue the fan onto the cpu? If so what do i do?
Spec:AMD XP 2500+ Barton core
Corsair XMS dual gig pc 3200(ddr 400)
Sapphire ATI 9800Pro 128 mb
Seagate 200 GB 72000rpm
EXTREME Volcano 12 cpu fan

1. Glue the fan??? Eeek. You should be "gluing" a HSF to the cpu
2. Apply some themal grease to the CPU, just a wee bit as too much is a bad thing.
