Just wondering what people thought of my build... I'm getting it on tuesday... and Its my 1st one, so I was wondering of any comments/suggestions... I am a graphic designer, so it is stricly for programs like, flash 8/dreamweaver/photoshop/illustrator/maya 3d/swift 3d/and zbrush/ so ALOT of multi-tasking power... Also, if anyone can tell me if all the components work correctly in the system that would be great as well... My budget was 1,200.00... Took me awhile... enjoy!

Thank you,

-David

Looks like a nice all around build, not sure as far as what you're looking for though.
Is the sound card really needed?
It does have onboard sound after all.
No Optical drives?

Wow!

HOLY CRAP MOTHER IN HELL!!! Soundboard is included??? I never knew! HA that saves me a bunch thx! Also, I have an old benQ drive in an external I am planning on using... They just don't make em like that anymore... Whatever happened to benQ anyways??

Yeah, I've never seen a gamer include a soundcard on their rig.
Lemme see...

Yep,

Onboard Audio
Audio Chipset Realtek ALC883
Audio Channels 8 Channels

Np =)

Lol I'm not sure, but I was checking out their monitors.
I think I'm going to go with a ProView though.
Walmart has a nice 22" WS (I work there, so I get 10% off)
and you can abuse the return policy, to keep exchanging until you get one with no dead pixels :]

Did you know paris hilton asked, "does wallmart sell walls?" haha!

LOL! great idea... too bad I don't have a walmart nearby to harass!

Also, Do you think think theres a way for me to keep my price around 1200 and still get the core2 e6600 w/mouse keyboard, monitor and all??

Yes, take a look at my build I was going to do with a $1200 budget, pretty much the same set up as you: http://www.computerforum.com/78628-thinking-building-new-computer.html I was at $1110 shipped and taxes with a e6400 and a little more expesive cooler, so just change that to a e6600 and the cooler you were gonna use and it should be right around $1200.

hmmmm

I should mention, that I do have a monitor as well, which it looks like you didn't have in your setup//// any suggestions??

-David

I didn't have a monitor in my setup because I'm going to use a 19 inch widescreen that I'm using right now. That price of $1110 will be cheaper for you because I'm assuming you don't like in NJ where I have to pay $80 in taxes to Newegg. With the e6600 and the cooler i would say your total would probably be about $1050 so that leaves you $150 for a monitor. You might want to look in the ram I used, it's cheaper and the timings are pretty good, also the PSU I used was recommended by this website and I believe it has more watts and is cheaper. Also, you might want to look into the video card I chose, its the same model you chose, but its by a different manufacturer and its $115 before rebate. That will give you enough money for the monitor you want and you'll still be under budget.

I wouldn't go with a stock cooler for the e6600 and I wouldn't go with the memory your talking about either... its baddd memory... would rather spend the extra hundred dollors on some good memory and a good psu... I like my video card as well, not trusting the foxxcon altough maybe in the future when I hear more about it... I will have a second opinion...

Thanks for your help....

-David

I ment with the cooler you picked out, sorry for the confusion. In my thread about building a computer that ram was recommended to be because of the timings, but I guess its not good enough for what you want to do with your computer. I agree with you after looking into my PSU I picked out, it's very cheap, the one you picked out is definitely better.

No offense, but wtf...?

Wouldn't go lower than 500W, Antec is pricey but has never failed me...ditch the soundcard, like many have said. Spend that money on that better PSU, or if you are into gaming (I'm assuming you are, with the gaming mouse) add a better graphics card (the 7900's are cheaper now). Also there is a price drop on the Core 2's on April 22nd. Look here for a chart about that: http://www.hkepc.com/bbs/itnews.php?tid=735045

That savings is more money to knock up your graphics. Good luck.

Antec are some damn good power supplies. They put out the actual wattage they advertize as opposed to some cheap ones that surely dont. I suppose that's the theory behind "true power".

You are so right. They are great and are totally worth the price - never cheap out on a PSU anyone - it will cheap out right back at you!
