:confused:Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I started looking at video cards, I know the two main card makers are Nvidia and ATI. When I was browsing the cards, some were made by ASUS and others by EVGA, and SAPPHIRE, and other companies. I was expecting Nvidia made cards and ATI made cards, so do Nvidia and ATI do it where they make the base card and then sell it to companies that customize it or change it to their liking? Also, which company is best? And if you have like a $100-$200 budget, which card is best? And which card by Nvidia is equal to ATI's Radeon 4870?

Depending on your motherboard depicts the best Video card your computer can handle. Post the specs of you Computer so we can attempt to help you

For Nvidia the best card manufacture is EVGA because they have great customer service, step up program and a great warranty. Although ATI Sapphire is a good company. Knowing how big of a monitor you will have may have a big impact on what card i would recommend.

17-19 Evga 250GTS

20-22SAPPHIRE Radeon 4870

23-25EVGA GeForce GTX 260 Core 216 55nm edition

I would recommend the 260 above all others.
