I'm confused

Thursday night I had to rest my desktop PC that has Windows 10 on it. Afterwards, I was looking for some images I thought I had put on a disc, but hadn't. I opened OneDrive and found 3 files from programs I haven't even had on my pc for awhile. One was from my old printer that I uninstalled about a year ago. How did those files survive the reset when nothing else did?

Ya OneDrive is on a server somewhere else in the world. It is not on your PC. You could throw your PC down a well or run it over with a truck and your OneDrive files would remain intact, for years and years.

So why didn't it still have a copy of the zip folder I thought I had transferred to a disc?
It'd probably be a good time to brush up on your data sorting skills. If you didn't put the zip on onedrive, it's not 'in the cloud' on the internet.
