ok ok im in need of reassurance that the Pentium D 915 @ 2.8 ghz that i just spent $125 for will still totally smoke my current Pentium 4 @ 3.0 ghz in my games. will it? im gonna overclock to 3.2-3.4 ghz, will that make it about the same speed of a C2D 4300 that i *want to* upgrade to?

By Tom's Hardware, the Pentium 4 sometimes does better, than sometimes the Pentium D does better... Though I don't know exactly what P4 you had, and the lowest Pentium D they had was a 920.
