I'm Getting an Alienware Aurora™ 5500 System - I'll try it once. Here is the setup and estimated price:

AMD 3500+

3 Year Warranty (around $168 - figured it would be worth it because of the investment)

2GB Memory DDR PC3200

High Performance - Serial ATA - 80GB Serial ATA 7,200 RPM
w/8MB Cache

Saucer Silver Tower with matching keyboard and mouse

PC Power & Cooling 510 Deluxe Upgrade

NVIDIA GeForce 6800 GT 256MB DDR3

Alienware motherboard based on VIA K8T800 Pro chipset

2GB Ultra Low Latency DDR PC-3200 SDRAM at 400MHz - 2 x 1024MB

160GB Serial ATA 7,200 RPM w/8MB Cache

Alienware® Acoustic Dampening with AlienIce™ 2.0 Video Cooling System

Logitech® Z-5300e 5.1 280-Watt Speakers

This is around $2,400 (which includes the S&H)

This included XP, Floppy, CD Bay, etc. (none of which I need by the way so I didn't even list them).

Was there a question? :) I can tell you for this specific system (even less the warranty), you're overpaying by a lot

yup, your overpaying lots!, if you build that system yourself, it would probably be around $1500.

THIS IS A GAMING SYSTEM

LOL! We'll see what happens. I realize I'd save some money by doing it myself but I'm just tempted too get it. I'm going to either order it tomorrow or go to new egg.

What would you say too:

**All I would need after this is some good advice on CPU cooling and system cooling. What would you recommend?

get a real PSU. see PSU 101 for ideas.

ASUS a8n-sli deluxe socket 939 nVidia nForce4 sli ATX AMD motherboard - retail $159
MSI K8n neo4 and DFI lanparty nf4 series are superior

you might also want an optical drive or two;) have a look at CD/DVD 101.

Could you be more specific about which MB would be good for this specific system?

Also - what about cooling? Lastly, I don't need any drives I already have 3 (1DVD) (1CDRW) (1DVD-CrRW)

I saw. Thats a nice PSU. Notice what i quoted when i posted my comment

It doesnt matter. Both are better IMO, than the Abit one Alienware uses and the ASUS one you've picked out

Also - what about cooling?
What about it? Stock cooling is sufficient until you decide you want to do OCing really

I think he wanted the Alienware because of the look, the liquid cooling, there neatness with wires, and super professional building.
