and still outputs HD. Anyone have any recommendations?

In short, i play Halo 2 pro, and also have a knack for making movies/video editing.

I want to record some games as i am playing without too much noticeable bullet lag/picture quality degradation.

Any help?

Aren't Capture cards for capturing TV signals and other stuff like RCA or S-Video> (so basicly a computer TV). I think what your looking for is a recording program, so you can record your happenings on your computer, correct?

Yeah, and im sure theres something out there that will do the same, just with HDTV (using composite, or S-video or whatever) instead of regular TV with coax or AV cables.

Yes, im looking to be able to play the game, and have it recording onto something. Sorta like, a TiVo, record as u watch. I've seen people talk about Dazzles, and watched them use a dazzle for such purposes as regular, standard A/V input gaming. But i want to venture into the HDTV realm. I've got more than a TB of storage space, but i just need a way to get it from my HDTV to my computer, and still have some really nice looking, high quality video. Im hoping that whatever exists might also have an output on the device, so that i can still play on the TV, and not have to use my Computer as a tuner, and watch it "Through" the computer.

One of the standing Halo champs is having a vid made, and when i watched the preview, i knew that what i want is possible.

The video in that was recorded somehow, and looks to be a much better quality than just standard A/V or coax. Maybe im wrong. Maybe im not. In that video, it looks exactly the same as when i play my Xbox in HD, with not even the slightest blurriness that gets brought on by AV or caox.

Just lookin to see if anyone has heard of anything that will do what i want it to do, or has any firsthand experience.

For those were wondering. I have found one. I finally got ahold of the other people i know that do this sort of thing, and i found what i need.

It's a "PINNACLE DVC 150 Digital Video Creator 150 - Retail"

goes for 116.50 on NewEgg.com

It will do what i need. It has component and Svideo inputs, and Component and SVideo outputs. The interface to the computer is USB 2.0, so you can have the recording program running on your computer, start to record, and just play and play until the hard drives just cant take it anymore.

Cant wait to see how this beast will function, along with my 570 gigs of HDD on the way, and 100 DVDs to store my clips.

There aren't too many HD cards out right now... Eh, sorry, I don't know any right off...well, I do remember seeing on on KWorld's product list, but their cards are crap :P
