I'm trying to pick a video card and I've read the video card 101 but I'm still confused as to which I should pick. Any suggestions or advice as to what I should be looking for would be nice.
Using card for :
Basically a NON-gamer, wants to watch TV on the computer and the ablity to hook up the computer to an CRT & LCD monitors and LCD Plasma TV's (you know those flat tv's). Of course if the ability to watch tv on the CTR or LCD monitor affects the performace of the card I dont mind buying a TV tuner seperatly.
I also plan on doing a bit of picture/video editing, i.e. digital photo, home video or video clip alterations like the cheezy music video's you find on youtube. (you know how they use anime or whatever and mix it in with music)
I'd also like to watch dvd's, anime & video clips either through streaming or downloaded files in mkv, avi, etc. in a good/best/high quality.
it'd be nice if the computer was rich with color (64bit+) and has a high screen resolution.
Requirements : Pci-e x 16 interface, both vga/d-sub and dvi ports (can you hook up a CRT monitor to a DVI port video card? I plan to upgrade the monitor in the near future) and perfer it to be cool and silent if possible but not necessary.
Price isnt really an issue but the cheaper the better right? oh and im not planning on using it on the computer I've listed but a way better computer that me and my roomate shares.
