So ya, Linux is a lot simpler than I thought it'd be, comes with firefox and all the other essential goodies and for FREE! :D

I think some of the features are disabled since I'm running it off of a CD though, but I dunno.

I've never been able to connect online with either a live or installed distro here due to the lack of working dsl drivers. The live distros will lack things like saving files into certain folders or locations as you would otherwise see when having a distro installed on a drive with actual hard drive space available. Mounting certain items like the start x auto display configuration tool seen in GParted still has to figured out here. Otherwise the platform independent releases are used for partitioning. You can't save files quite well on a cd after the live distro is already burned to it.

Most of the features are their off the live cd. Give it a go and install it on a small partition (minimum of 8GB) and see how you like it. The live cd doesn't do justice. Just make sure to get your restricted drivers installed for your video card after you install ubuntu. http://www.ubuntuforums.org is a great place to learn about ubuntu. Great community support too.
