My school just threw out about 100 desktop computers. They sent them to this recycle plant that threaded them. I saw them loading a truck full of them, and I asked what they were doing with them. They said they were destroying them, so I asked if I could have a few. They said that the school donated the computers to them. I was about to go cry in the bathroom, but I asked the tech guy at our school, and he notified me that they were computers from about '96, and that they had old P1 and 64MB of RAM. Would those had been good for anything? Or was destroying them good?
 
lol I forgot the ol </sarcasm> tag. Sorry. Still, you would cry if you thought your school was throwing away quality computers. They looked a lot like the decent computers some of our labs still use.
 
File Server, Dos, Gateway server are the only real use of those old PCs, and a p1 with a 1 TB hard drive would be cool! These PCs are also great as large paperweights and your good old dust collector!
 
Or practice modding. That's what I'd do to them. Save the parts for later and mod all the cases.
 
P1s with 64MB RAM - they're not really useful for any serious tasks. If your school runs any computer building classes, or if students wanted to learn computer building, maybe they could have been useful for that, though.
 
Computer modding is what I would do. End of story lol. Also the HDD would look cool if I took the cover off...

That is what my high school computer classes used for building, because it didn't matter if they computers got destroyed or not. I believe they were Pentium's with 16MB of RAM, lol
 
I feel your pain :( You should have seen me when they said "We're throwing out those Mac's" It was what... G3's 500MHz w/ 128MB... And those other computers..
