Im stuck on my 1st build.

It's of the SATA hard drive connectors. Power is on the right, motherboard connector is on the left.

according to my manual thats the sata plugs. i dont know where the other end plugs into.

the other end doesnt plug anywhere on my harddrive or dvd.

Put one on there, the other on your SATA drive. pretty easy actually.

heres a pic of the back of my hard drive and the pic of the plug that fits into the motherboard. theres no place to plug it in on the hard drive.

Well there in lies the problem. It's IDE! You said you had the IDE connected properly but not the SATA so I assumed the HDD was SATA. *doh* Anywho, Ulta ATA is the same as IDE, I believe it uses the same connections and what not. Just make sure your jumpers are right, hook it up correctly, and you should be just fine.

Move the wires away from the CPU Fan... If those get caught in there that can be a handful of bad news...

its still telling me the same thing. boot disk failure insert sytem disk and press enter? any other suggestions?

Did a disk comes with your motherboard? If so try putting that in.

still nothing. i do have one thing that could possibly help. no books or anything came with my HD or my dvd drive. so im not really sure how to hook them up right. but on my dvd drive i have 4 plugs and im only using 2 the power and the ide. and on my HD the same thing except it only has one plug not being used. should all these plugs be used? if so i have a problem cause i dont have any cables for them
