So I am contemplating the purchase of my first iMac and I'm hoping i can get some advice and input from some of ya'll!

I'm looking at the 27" panel iMac and I'm working through the available options on the Apple site.

Is the i7 quad that much better over the i5 quad for the $220 upgrade?

Which is better in the 8GB Ram...2GBx4 or 4GBx2? why is the 4GBx2 option a $210 more option? which is better?

Is a single 1TB hard drive (7200rpm) a good choice, and then use my external Seagates as necessary? Is it worth the cost for a SSD in the iMac?

Should I pick a wireless keyboard and mouse? or is wired better?

What else should I look at or know about configuring a new iMac?

Thanks!!

You should try to get the iMac as upgraded as possible. As for the SSD, they are so darn fast! Boot your system in mere seconds! But they are also more expensive and have less of a storage capacity. Wired or wireless, it doesn't really matter in my opinion. Hope I helped.
