Images opening in IE instead of Firefox

I currently set Firefox to be my default browser. However, whenever I try to open an image, it is opening in IE. I am trying to battle the dreaded Red X syndrome to see if this is an IE issue. How do I make my images open in Firefox? I am currently on a Windows 2000 computer. Thanks!!!

OK so I know I can right click the image and tell it to open it with Firefox, but how do I do this by default?

right click on the thumbnail of the pic and go to properties. Under the general tab click the change button that is beside the "open with". Then click firefox and then click apply. that should work for ya.
