...... Im starting to get red crosses and missing images only on a few certian websites though, its not all the images just some of them! Really starting to annoy me and ive tried mostly everything i can think of!

Its the same on most Internet Browsers I have tired!

I do use firefox anyway!

has anybody came to a good answer to this yet??????
 
The links to the images are probably broken on the webpages...nothing to do with your PC...just bad web-mastering:P
If you can right-click in Firefox and select "View Image" and nothing comes up then it is most likely a broken image link.
 
On IE you can go into the Security settings to enable "unsigned" Active X controls that will allow for more images to be displayed. The updated security patches you see for IE and XP will often block these by default. But when lowering from the default settings you do so at your own risk for adwares/spywares some of these sites love to throw at you.
 
Try clearing your cookies/history/Temporary Internet Files, I don't know why this would, but it often times fixes the oddest things for me.
 
If it's just certain sites, maybe you can post the links and other members can help you check it out if it's indeed you, or the site.
 
One thought on this was to assign one of the sites as your temp home page to see if that worked. And then there was reaching a limit for adding links to the links menu or favorites if you have numbers of others already saved. The last option would be to reinstall IE 6.0 to see if that saw results. If you have lowed your browser security settings and are still seeing this then the problem may simply be a need to repair IE. That would be the time to first remove and then install a fresh copy.

You are apparently not familiar with the add/remove option for Windows components easily found in when opening the add/remove programs in the Control Panel. IE 6.0 can be taken off at any time. :rolleyes:

The IE 7 beta however is one stubborn animal there! And I'm not the only one that had fun getting that off of XP. Leave it with Vista please. Make sure you download the copy of IE 6.0 to a folder before removing the original there. After initially getting through the setup wizard all of those updates will come at you though. You can even copy your current favorites and links into a temp folder for the fresh intall of IE 6. But you will still have to open those pages and connect to the sites to re-add them again.
 
Once the uninstaller starts it takes just about everything off in one shot. All of your links and items in the favorites and all mail in Outlook as well as contacts will disappear as well since Outlook is tied into IE. This is why you want a copy of the IE Setup on the drive before attempting this in order to get the basics running again. After the uninstall restart and startup the install of the downloaded copy. Anything leftover from the original gets overwritten.
