imation wireless mouse problem

i have an Imation wireless mouse, using AA battery. However, i found that it just runs out of battery so fast, about 1-2 months the battery will fail. I just wonder if it is normal for any kind of wireless mouse to consume battery so quickly.

Note my computer is active for 24 hours i don't shut it down when sleep. Will it be a possible reason for such a short life battery?

By the way, will it show a big difference if I unplug the usb sensor when I go to sleep?

Or is it purely due to the problem of battery?

Not familiar with the mouse or manufacture. I do not think the life is long though. My logitech will last for all of 6mo. Are you buying quality batteries? I just use Duracell batteries. And the keyboard and mouse is plugged in all the time. Computer is mostly on. turn off every 3 or 4 days.

Hey, this is an old thread, if you have a question it's better to make a one.

But to answer your question, unfortunately the mouse is most likely scrap. Most wireless mice are paired with the dongle their shipped with and there is no way to make them work with a different one. However, if it has a connect or sync button on the bottom then you would be able to use it with another identical dongle. They're only sold with the mice though, so your only chance of finding one by itself would be eBay or similar.
