implementing a file transporter

Hi,

Hope someone can help. Not sure if anyone here has heard of file transporters?

Below is a series of google images of file transporters

https://www.google.co.uk/search?q=f...Mb1EaqP7AaJ9oHoCg&sqi=2&ved=0CAkQ_AUoBA&dpr=1

We have 2 sites and want to do away with our windows server due to support costs, the option was to have a file transporter at each site, but I am wondering whats the best way to implement file transporter safely? considering loss of data or security issues.

Our data usage is very light where we only use 80 gig at one site.

For all practical purposes just use the term external hard drive.

I really fear for your environment if Windows Server support costs are your largest concern.

Edit:
What you are proposing is frankly horrible when you could simply have a network connection or VPN between the two.

Thanks for getting back to me.

I know, data should be the largest concern, but we just have to make do with backups and the device offers sync backups as well. We do have VPN routers, but for far too long the other site has been cut off from sharing data. As a small business we have to try balance off costs some where.

So this device was proposed and we checked some reviews. If the device does not behave, then I guess we ll have to implement a server solution.
