Importance of Graphics Card

I've been looking at a few laptops on Newegg and Bestbuy, and the one that really stuck out for me recently was the Toshiba Qosmio.(http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Toshiba...lack/9716111.p?id=1218158634282&skuId=9716111)

It seems better in almost every aspect to the Asus G72GX
(http://www.bestbuy.com/site/Asus+-+...lack/9556125.p?id=1218124208054&skuId=9556125)
with the exception of the graphics card and 2GB or Ram.(although the Toshiba uses DDR3 and Asus uses DDR2) Would the jump from the Nvidia GeForce GTS 360M to the Nvidia GeForce GTX 260M be enough to put the Asus on equal footing with the Toshiba or would the other components of the Qosmio keep it ahead in terms of performace?

also: I see under specs that the Toshiba's OS is Vista, I was just going to see if they could throw windows 7 on it instead at Bestbuy.(Hoping this isn't just wishful thinking though)

I'd take the asus, the toshiba screen res is very odd. also the graphics card on the asus out performs the toshiba in all aspects... You won't notice a huge difference between the i5 processor and the Core 2 Duo P8700 unless you do a lot of multitasking... Also Vista is the worst OS in microsoft history IMO, Windows 7 is really awesome.

Well, both laptops seem good to me. IMO the ASUS looks better, and the (slightly) lower price is a plus to me. As far as quality goes, neither really takes the first place. The Toshiba will perform better with the i5, especially in multitasking. The ASUS actually has more memory (6GB vs 4GB), but I doubt you'd use that much anyways.

Really, both laptops seem good, but it's kinda hard to pick one or the other without knowing what you'll be using it for. I'd personally pick the ASUS, but thenagain I'm quite fussed about price and aesthetics.

Also Vista is the worst OS in microsoft history IMO, Windows 7 is really awesome.
Meh, Vista ain't half as bad as people make it out to be. Works fine for me.

Thanks for the replies. I've been searching for deals for laptops for a couple weeks now. I use my laptop for games(Crysis, Starcraft 2/Diablo 3when they come out, COD:MW2), watching HD movies(will eventually buy external blu ray reader/writer) and music. I am personally leaning towards the Toshiba because i currently have one and it works fine even after I accidentally ran it over(screen broken but still not as bad as it could have been). The extra $50 isn't even a factor to me atm. I was just wondering is the graphics card on the Asus would put it ahead of the Toshiba in terms of gaming even though the specs of the Toshiba are better in every aspect(to the best of my knowledge 4GB of DDR3 is just about equal to 6GB of DDR2 but I could be wrong) I know the Toshiba also has bluetooth to connect mouses and other things without hogging USB drives. Could that be used to connect wireless 360 controller to the PC, that would be pretty badass imo :D?

TL;DR version: For games, music and HD movies which laptop comes out on top(price difference not an issue)?
