importing videos to my pc, help!

i am trying to put some videos from my video camera onto my pc. my video camera has a usb output which i have hooked up to my pc, and i am trying to get video w audio recorded onto my pc. well i am having trouble doing this for the reasons listed below....

1. using nero ultra 7, video capture seems extremely laggy
2. capture is not recording audio with video.
3. my Mac is not even seeing the camera when i plug it in.

what i am wanting to know is, what is the best program to use to get my videos onto my pc via the usb port on my video camera? any help will work, thanks!!
 
Firewire is a much, MUCH better option for video editing. If at all possible, I'd strongly suggest switching to it.

The laggy problem could be your computer and the compression settings(IE too hard for it to capture and compress) As for the audio problem, be sure the capture devices are configured to both USB. Many USB devices use the sound card for audio. If you can't configure it otherwise, maybe using the audio line-out on your camera to the line-in on your computer would be an alternative(if "capture" works smoothly)
 
well i obtained a copy of Ulead Video Suite 10, its got a built in capture program which works for what i need it for. i was trying to use the nero one, but it sucks, this ulead one works much better....:D
